OCTOPATH TRAVELER 1 & 2
ROLE
Designer, QA Analyst
DESCRIPTION
My introduction to Square Enix. The first game was released at separate times depending on the medium, so I was able to work on a few different versions. I also helped with the creation of the sequel though only for a brief period.
The visual style of these games is what really grabs your attention and the design team decided to lean in to that aspect. I worked with the art team every day in pursuit of cleaner, easily understandable, and efficient visual information. Writing and editing character lore was a blast and with all the relationships and bonds these characters shared, I learned a whole lot about how to write/create a great posse of allies.

CHARACTER SHEETS & MENUS
Octopath is filled with unique, interesting characters that have deep lore and backstory. One of the reasons I loved working on this game so much was getting to help write and edit all the text in the expansive menu system. As you play with the characters, you can really feel their personality reveal itself to you.

VISUAL INFORMATION
One of our game-wide goals was to declutter the screen and provide players with more visual information than text. At my point in joining this project, most UX/UI projects were already done but I was still able to do some tweaking. I saw just how much effort the team put into reaching this goal, and how amazing the product turned out to be because of their efforts. I included a Japanese example just to prove that even without being able to read the text, you could still take a good guess at what most things mean/do.
